30 free hours - headcount week?

Hi
Just after some advice on 30 hours free childcare funding - CM is now signed up subject to settings check - DC eligible from 1st April but settings check won't be done for couple of weeks - does this mean CM will miss payment for this term? Does DC miss out on whole term and so we will lose all the 30 hours for April-September??
I'm trying to budget and had obviously budgeted for 30 hours funding being in place from this month?
I've read something about head count week but cant find details about it for our area and whether it is important?

Funding is available from the term after they turn 3. So if he turned 3 after Easter he’s not eligible until September

Thanks @PotteringAlong DC turned 3 in March so was eligible from April 1st - CM hasn't had settings check yet so worried that they say we won't be able to claim now until September and then we won't get the full 38 weeks?

Do you have the code already and you paid anything to your child minder for any hours from April 1?

*Have you paid?

Hi so my LA said that whilst government website said April 1st it's actually April 29th so I paid full fees for April. Then this month was expecting CM to start claiming 30 hours thus reducing monthly cost massively for us but CM hasn't had the settings check yet

Yes I've got my code and passed that to CM few months ago - they've only just registered for Early Years though

You’re not going to get any useful answer to your question here. It will depend entirely on the local authority and the childminder.

Different LAs have different headcount periods (termly/half termly/even quarter terms). They also have different rules on whether they will pay a late claim that’s missed a headcount deadline.

Childcare providers already have to suffer the problem of late payments for funded care when headcounts are submitted on time. Late submissions can be paid 3+ months late. In such circumstances it would be entirely read for your CM to refuse to entertain a late claim. It’s something you nee£ to talk over with her/him.

Thanks @itsaboojum my query isn't about my CM refusing to entertain a late claim (although I would say it would be completely unreasonable if the CM submitted the claim late for the parent then to be penalised but that's for a different day) ....my side was all set up in good time.....it's whether the LA still pays out if there has been a delay LA side - it has been tricky getting it all set up and then they wanted to do a settings check ....
I've managed to get some clarity today anyway - looks like CM has a couple more weeks yet before final deadline closes for spring term so it's just a case of her filling in the info on the LAs portal and then payment is within 5 days for 75% of the entire terms money with the remaining 25% the following month
