Hi all I’m wondering what you think about this and any suggestions of childcare. My ds and niece (sil) daughter attend the same school. I’m currently on mat leave but will go back to work in a few months. Now sil does contract work and the hours don’t really fit in with school which I totally understand. At the moment I do all school run as my dh work shift doesn’t fit in with school times either. We will revisit this when it’s closer to time for my return to work. Now sil has asked me to help with drop off and pick ups 4 days a week. I gave it a thought and said I was happy to do the mornings everyday but unable to do pick ups 4 days as it’s quite taxing on me and she finishes work sometimes at 7pm so wouldn’t be back till 8. I try to get the kids to bed before 8 so I can rest I’m usually beat before then! Anyway I don’t want to seem unhelpful but at the same time I feel
It’s a lot. I have suggested a childminder / au pair but sil has tried this in the past and somehow it didn’t work out. I want to help but not do all 4 days. Also we don’t have any other family who live close. Any suggestions

She needs to be looking for solutions, not you. You are quite right not to make this commitment, particularly as you are soon returning to work anyway.

She is a cf and looking for free childcare

I would Maybe offer once a week. Not 4 times
