Hi

I have a 2 yr mindee that's leaving me next wednesday. I have her from 8am til 4.30pm, mums just sent me a text saying as of tomorrow she will pick her up at lunchtime. Got a feeling this is to save money, however, I'm being strong and want to reply and say no problems but she will still be charged til 4.30.

Help....how do I word the text back to her as she wants a answer asap?

Yes no problem you are aware you will still be charged till 4pm as per the contract we have, many thanks see you tomorrow

What S88AHG said!

Have you text her back? Hope it went ok. I get this too sometimes and it makes you feel awful, however, if you don't stand up for yourself no one else will!

I've texted her back, saying that the fee's will still be still 4.30 and that if she needed me in the afternoons for a hour or so just to drop her off.

I've been bit a coupleof times now by people giving notice and not using the service and then deceiding not to pay. I'm normally too soft but at the moment money is very tight and I need to be tough!! Just wish I could look and sound tough.

I agree about stating you still charge till 4.30 , but don't offer yourself for later! It would only upset the child being picked up, then dropped off again. If they've decided to pick up early thats the end of your day surely!

the child gets upset already, as mum drops her at me at 8am and then she takes sister to pre-school, same one as my ds and we see her every time and have tears for 1 hour after, we've had this for the last weeka nd half but mum's taken no notice of things

Mindee had huge paddy today in front of mum so I'm persuming that's why I had the text.

Well I am shattered, even though I have been cuddling and playing with a 5mth old little boy. The older children were bouncing on the castle and the food went so fast. Just a quick 5 mins to have a coffee before going to collect DD and take her to rainbows.
The rain finally stopped and now the sun comes out for a few seconds then disapears again. Well tomorrow is another day.

Sorry posted on wrong thread

PinkChick · 12/07/2007 15:31

ah, this one!..so shes leaving?..what reason has she give?, cos shes already took the other one from you hasnt she?

yes, def charge full rate, thats your /her contract what she decides to use is up to her.

Saz73 · 12/07/2007 15:56

the other one was at a different childminder.

Mindee's dad is army and he's done his service and coming out now, so moving back home.

Last few weeks has been hell, they're house is a big mess with boxes etc, and few other factors as well and it's really effecting the child. Haven't been able to take her even to toddler group, gets very upset and takes ages to calm her down.

On the plus side, replcing her I have a 9mth boy and it's 40 hours tues-weds so means I won't be working mondays... yipeeeeee
