Also do nurseries even take babies full day if you're commuting back and forth from work?

I don't have said child yet but working out options for when it's born. It's a bit sad if my job isn't high earning enough for me to go back.

For nanny, nursery, childminder etc what would be the salary you need for each? TIA

My DC’s nursery take babies from three months and is open 7.30-19.30. It’s £72 per day (more for younger children and babies. It works out almost £20k per year (it’s closed Christmas week) which is pretty much the same I’d pay a nanny here. I don’t know a local childminder costs.

Depends on where you are, as costs will be different.

I'm a childminder in Scotland and I charge £5.50 per hour if the parent provides a packed lunch and £6 per hour if they want me to provide food.

You also have to factor in pension contributions and the effect on your career.

It varies too much from area to area to say op. I'm in Yorkshire and here cms are around £4.50-5 per hour, nurseries are around £50 a day (more for before 8am drop off and after 5.30 pick up), nannies are around £8-9 an hour.

I pretty much loose money going to work on the living wage. I only work PT and I do it purely to keep on top of my CV, and for the benefits of nursery for DS.

I'm in London, so I'm guessing the most expensive

We've done a mixture of nursery and grandparents to help keep the cost down. We pay £40 for a full day 7:30-18:00 if we want it

We live in a very posh part of London and childcare for baby DD is well over £100 a day. For her to be there full time Mon-Fri is over £2,000 a month.

My earning potential is around £45k which is £2,600ish a month take home pay. No way am I working full time, missing time with my baby, for £600 a month! Just no. So I'm a SAHM.
