Hi everyone, hope someone out there has some good experiences to share with me.
I am planning to go back to work for 5 days a week when my baby is 10 months. I have to because of finances. I'm very sad about this.
I've looked into childminders. Found a lovely one who would be perfect but we physically cannot afford it.
So now I'm looking at nurseries. I have found one which looks good and a friend of mine has a child there so I know my baby will be well looked after.
Has anyone else put their child in nursery for 5 days and has had a positive experience?
TIA

I know loads of people who have used nurseries. They are often more expensive than childminders through-what sort of hours are you looking at?

Have you looked into childcare vouchers?
What about a mix of nursery and childminder? Can you move your hours a bit at all?

We don't get child care vouchers in Scotland. My hours are stuck. No flexibility at all. The child minder would be cheaper in the long run - it's the retainer fee that I'd struggle with...

Yes at 10 months five days per week.maybe home is better but I needed to go back full time. He loves it there and the staff so I'm ok with it

Yes, my two absolutely thrived and are well behaved, well mannered, very sociable and very secure children. Nurseries are not hell camps.

All of mine have been to a nursery, DS1 was 6 months (we went back sooner then). They'll be fine.
