Christmas Bonus!?

Hello wise mums of mumsnet!

Just wanted to check what the general consensus was on giving your childminder a christmas bonus?

Do you give one, or is the norm a lovely gift (bubbles, smellies, posh candle etc)....

We really like and respect our CM and would be happy either way, but don't want to overdo/underdo it!!

Any advice welcome,

Thanks!!!

I’ve have both/ either/ none! There’s no right or wrong, just do what finances and inclination allow.

I'd be more than happy with a Christmas bonus, but I've never had one. I've had everything from no gift, to something worth hundreds.

Just give what you feel is applicable and something you can afford.

Give cash. They'll really appreciate it.

I've never had a Christmas bonus but it's what I would like most!

We will be giving a gift. I don't know any parents that could afford a cash gift, with the cost of childcare.

Gifts seem far more personal and thoughtful in my opinion

I’d love to get a cash bonus, but have never had one. I normally get gifts from the majority, candles, alcohol, smellies, biscuits, chocolate, generic stuff, but I don’t mind that. I’d like vouchers, either for a coffee shop or for the cinema, but you know the cm and what she does in her time off (theatre goer, keen Gardner, fashion enthusiast, enjoys a nice meal out, likes flowers, reading), maybe get a voucher related to her hobbies if you don’t want to give cash.
