Ad hoc childcare

Does such a thing exist? I'm in a slightly awkward position that I'm committed to a position until March where I have to be in town (rather than work at home). We have lovely CM but she's having an op and then will then days off here and there afterwards for quite a while.
Trouble is she can't say yet when this will be! I'm not sure whether to just sort out another childminder/nanny for the problematic day a week when I'm in town until she's properly better or if there's an Ad hoc short term solution to call on when I need too as and when.
Also what would be better for my son? Bit stressed about leaving him with a random stranger at short notice as well. He's nearly 3.
Any ideas??!

Yes it is something I provide on days when I have no permanent commitment. So I expect others must also provide it, though could be tricky to find. I would look on sites like Childcare.co.uk to see if any nannies/babysitters provide ad-hoc daytime care.

Have you asked your cm if she knows of anyone who can help? Many work closely with others who may have space. Otherwise yes some cms do ad hoc care generally paid for on booking,

Thanks both. I'll ask my cm and look at the other options as well 😬

I have a nanny share who I use. I found her through the school.
