Hello

I'm 2 months in & loving it for the most part, 3 siblings at the mo - 2 year old twins & a 6 year (just 2 days a week atm) old plus my ds-9 & dd-5

I just feel like I should be writing up more or record keeping & haven't really done either yet apart from keeping income/expenditure records & taking photos.

And today was a brilliant day but then 2yo bumped her head - she is fine thankfully. Told dad at pick up & have to register in accident book but can't find it! Can I write it out or buy another somewhere? Any other useful links to NI childminding support?

Hi just reading your post. Keep all your receipts over £10 for things you have bought for starting your business so you can claim them back. The only records really you should have is your daily register. I just use my diary. I put the child's name and the time they arrive and leave. We don't need to do learning journal's or anything like that. If i have babies I do a daily diary sheet. It just keeps track of feeds wet and dirty nappies and sleep
times for the parents. And a short list of the activities we have done during the day, ie walk to park, mums and tots etc.

As for your accident book. It can be anything. I have a little book and when there is an accident I write the child's name, the time it happened, where it happened and how. Also write how you treated the injury. Try and be detailed just so you can refer back if you ever need to. Also if you are taking photographs make sure you are registered with the ICO x
