We need some extra help around the house.
DH has v stressful job and long hours, we have 2 boys, a lively 2.5 year old and 5 week old baby and finding it hard to get all the basices done at the mo, such as cooking, cleaning and washing, in fact the house is a total tip ...
No family near by so need some help with these domestic things and ideally someone to collect DS1 from nursery twice a week.
Woudl a home help be suitable? What sort of rate are they usually on (we are in Norfolk)?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Pannacotta - where in Norfolk

In Norwich you might have to pay £6-£6.50 but in the country you might pay min wage (5.45)

How many hours are you looking for?

Pannacotta · 18/06/2007 11:16

We are in Norwich,fairly central.
Have no idea what I need other than I need some help!
Are you also in Norfolk Katymac?

Might this be of interest Pannacotta?

Katymac · 18/06/2007 12:13

Yes - I'm over by Acle

How many hours - do you think you need help - just a few get a teenager

More incl cleaning/cooking get someone older

Pannacotta · 18/06/2007 21:57

ggglimpopo thanks for that, we dont have any room for a live in au pair so no good for us, thanks anyway.
Think I prefer the idea of part time help anyway...
Any ideas on the best way to get someone, not too keen on advertising but dont have any recommendations to go on?

Katymac are you a CM?
Do you have any suggestions on how to find a mothers help?
Shame you aren't close by
I also need to think ahead and find someone who can mind DS2 (5 weeks) when he is older, as I don't want to put him in nursery until he is min 18 months. Do you know any good CMs in the city?

Yes I childmind

Umm - not sure about minders in the city tbh

Advertise for your mother's help in Post Office windows & newsagent windows

If you are in a church ask around there

Remember look in an area that has people who are similar to you

Good Luck

Thanks Katymac, will do.
Will try asking the ladies at toddler group which is run by the church, hadnt thought of that but I think its prob the best way round here.
