Nanny share vs nursery

Hello, I'm looking for people's experience of a nanny share and whether they found it better or worse than nursery?

LO is 13 months. Has a place at nursery and in the middle of settling in and seems ok. He's used to being with other kids at various baby groups. I'm considering a nanny share with a friend. Mainly because I've heard attachment is more important than socialising under 2, and also because I worry he'll become more aggressive at nursery (some other baby friends have started hitting, grabbing, pushing etc since starting nursery). I also think having him in one building for most of the day (other than a daily trip to the park) will be very different as he's used to going out once or twice a day with me. I've read lots of threads recommending a nanny over nursery, but none about a nanny share. He'll only be in nursery/with the nanny 2 days per week. If nanny share, one day at our house, one day at the other baby's house.

Any views would be welcome!

Why not consider a child-minder? You get all the advantages of a smaller setting closer attachment, going out etc. Without the worries of employing anyone. Child-minder's are regulated and inspected by Ofsted like a nursery so you can access any of the current money saving schemes, they work to the same standards as a nursery (EYFS) providing the same learning opportunities with a much wider range of toys and equipment than the average home. Many child-minders have as high a qualification as a nursery manager with a growing number having degrees and early years teaching status and working with co minders and assistants is increasingly common so children can be in low ratio but mix with more children.

Hi I would post this in the nannies section.. you'll get some wonderful advice. I'm a nanny and work nanny shares often and obviously without trying to be biased, it works amazingly. The kids have an instant playmate, so so many advantages but I am just about to get the kids up so break over. I will try to write a detailed response this evening.
