What would you expect to pay per hour to a neighbours 17 daughter for evening babysitting? I asked her what she charged but she said it was up to me..

I was thinking perhaps £10 an hour in line with London Living Wage? Or is that too high? As she’s never baby sat before...
No idea!

Don't know why you titled your post childminders, but yes £10 an hour seems reasonable for babysitting .

I'm a childminder so have a DBS check, first aid training and insurance. I do ovcassional evening babysitting.
I'm on tbe London/Surrey borders and charge £8 per hour before midnight and £12 per hour after midnight.
I think £10 per hour for a 17 year old is quite generous unless you are central London.

My niece (also 17) babysits for the whole night for £20 plus a takeaway and taxi home. No qualifications and it's just pocket money to her. Her neighbours seem happy with that!

My babysitter is 17, and charges £7 per hour (SW London/Surrey borders as well). We always round it up though (eg 5 hrs, I pay her £40), and when she turns 18 I will suggest putting it up to £8 or £9 p/h.
