Home inspection before training?

Hi, went to a Childcare Briefing session a couple of nights ago and would like to start as a childminder.
The problem is that i want to check that my home and garden are suitable as a CM setting.
We have an all glass extension that was built in 1982 and it is single glazed toughened glass but has no kitemark.
Also, we have a pond in the back garden which is covered by an iron grid (strong enough for adult to walk on).
Do you think they would do an inspection just to see what work/alterations need to be done?
As if loads need doing then i'll have to put off applying for the registration course this year, as my DH says that any work will have to be paid for out of the housekeeping he gives me.
I'm doing homecare at the moment and hoping to save up to do childminding in the future.

Is it the childminding network wanting to come and check your home? If so this would be really helpful for you, there would be no harm in it and they may also be able to tell you about what funding/grants you can apply for to cover start up costs.

Do you know an established childminder who can maybe come over and offer some advise? Although I may not know all the legislation I can tell at a glance if something is not quite right. I have done it a few times for people and they have found it to be very helpful. I have been a childminder for 12 years so not much gets past me.
