Hi everyone, I am after some advice. Im returning to work after having my little girl a year ago. I am a nurse and work 3 shifts a week which change on a weekly basis - no set dates. The issue I have is that my eldest boys after school club doesnt finish late enough for me or my partner to collect, my middle son and baby will be at nursery which is open later so that is not an issue.
My question is basically what is the likelihood of finding a nanny that would work those hours on a changing weekly basis? Also roughly how much would it cost? We are midland based, many thanks

I think it's a rare thing to find a nanny willing to be really flexible like that, the people that I know that work flexible hours with nannies have all got the nannies contracted to do the maximum set hours and then sometimes they agree a bit of wiggle room between them on a week to week basis. An expensive option obviously. Your best bet would be to speak to an agency and get their advice as I think this is quite "non standard" (even if you end up not using an agency).

You could look for a childminder some will cater for shifts and often work a bit later as well as cover school holidays and training days.
