What should I expect from my Chilminder?

My DS is 2 and has been going to the same childminder since he was 9 months. She is very good, in that she gives him a lot of love and attention. But I am starting to get worried, as I think he probably watches too much Tv and I don;t think there is any structure to what she does with him. Quite often he is the only child there, either that or its him and another 3 year old. As far as I can gather most of the time they are out shopping with her, or going to the hospital with her (she's not well), or just playing. Am I being OTT and is this fine for a 2/3 year old, or would he be better off at nursery where they have more structured activities?? He does go to playgroup three times a week, so he does have a fair amount of interaction with other kids and he's a pretty outgoing little chap anyway, its more the educational side of things I'm worrying about.

I dont take kids on a big weekly shop but we do shop to buy certain things TBH my mindees love it (we have mini trolleys etc)

I must admit I wouldnt take the to the doctors or hospital.
You could always leave a digital camera with your childminder and ask her to take a couple of snaps each day to complete a scrapbook for granny/aunty/memory box etc

I am seriously thinking of leaving the minding business now as my LO's are all moving (some to school and some to another home) I think it may be a sign for me to move on too. Have been minding for over 10 years now!

When I just have my own DS and mindee 1 we go to Tesco. Not a big shop as such, but are there a while.

We sing nursery rhymes all the way around and talk about what we are buying and all the different things we see. They love it!

Actually a couple of weeks ago I got stopped by a fellow childminder who was 'off duty'. Said it was lovely to see us enjoying ourselves, and that anyone else is probably thinking that I am bonkers!!

Hardly ever have TV on though. Maybe when my DD gets in from school, but only for half hour or so, and mindee's usually just ignore it anyway!
