Mindee 2's parents have (so they told me) been having big problems with their tax credits. They say they haven't been paid anything from them for weeks and they are owed £900+ in childcare tax credits. Up until now this hasn't been a problem, I've always got paid. The money goes in the Hubby's account and he pays me. Anyway the bill week is slightly higher (about £30) than usual. She has just texted me and asked if they can pay me this weeks money and the money thye will owe for the rest of the month on the 31st (dad's pay day). It's the first time this has ever happened, and the 1st June is my last day due to moving. Part of me wants to say yes, the other part wants to say no. They have had their home phone cut off and are on PAYG mobiles. They also pay out £5.75 a day for mindee1 to go to a playgroup (I have posted before about the problems they had paying that), and pay £6.00 a day for their daughter to go to a different CM.

So, what would you do?
I'm nipping out to school now to get the DSes, but will check when I get back

I would say no and explain you need the money for the move. Are they having problems paying the other cm?
the one piece of advice i was given when i started was neveraccept a late payment cosyou never guaranteeyou will getit.
I would say no esp as they want to pay on your last day

you could ask them to pay with a post dated cheque and cash it at one of those cheque cashing companies on the day.

You will go through agony wondering if you will be paid or not. While I understand how awful finding money sometimes is, it's just one of those things - you may your c/m first.

I would be tempted to say no but then am biggest softie in universe so...

I don't think they won't pay me, I'm just not sure how to deal with it.
Ofsted, I'm not sure if they are having probl;ems paying the other CM or not, I haven't asked her, but I know that they pay the playgroup bill late, about the middle of the month, because they give the money to me to hand over.

Well, I suppose if you know they will pay you then it sounds like you would be doing them a massive favour.
