Childminder help

Hi All,

Some of you may have seen my other post in AIBU a few days back.

I am now in a position where I am meeting a childminder tomorrow and I am waiting on a few more calls back.

Given how short notice I need to place the childminder, I don't want to end up choosing the wrong one under pressure (although beggars can't be choosers!!)

What are the main things you look out for (personally - I know Ofsted etc) when choosing a childcare provider? What factors are you considering?

@lollipop306 go and look at a few more still. I looked at 6 some CM some nursery and a couple that seemed in between the both all were different. Are you going to take DP or parents along to any?

lollipop306 · 08/02/2018 20:57

Yes, I'm lucky my other half was able to come to both with me. And to my horror, we preferred different ones 😂 .... making the situation more difficult!

@lollipop306 so glad you took him it's a big decision when you are nervous anyway, I remember the nervous phone calls crying at the thought of leaving my little baby to anyone else.... 8 months in we get to the door she squeals with excitement and trots off before I can get her coat off! DD15 months now! It's worth looking around though until you both agree!!

Oh gosh, I'll be the one crying. He'll have SO much fun and I will be past myself at work! I just wish I was in a position to not need to leave him with other people...

I'm going to continue looking but OH is happy to go with my decision if we can't find another suitable. I liked the "professional" lady but he liked the one who played with our little one. I just feel like I'd relax more with someone who has everything together and likes to do everything "properly" (not that I'm saying the first one didn't)
