Hi can you all let me know some good ideas for healthy snacks for the children I mind. They all are offered the usual fruit etc but wanted to give them more variety. Also we get in from school at 330 and are out the door for activity drop offs at 415 so will need something that can be made and eaten realtively quickly! Thanks

As well as fruit, we also have cheese cubes/triangles, crackers, small yoghurt etc.

Sorry I shouldve put they are 8, 10 and 11 so will want something which is a bit bigger than a snack but not as big as a full tea!! At the mo they are having a piece of fruit and a sandwich/ sausage roll/ something similar but am running out of ideas!

I give mine rice cakes sometimes, they seem pretty natural (well the better brands) and most children seem to like them.
Dried fruits in little containers for a change?

What about fruit kebabs and yoghurt dips

or savoury kebabs with cheese, toms, red pepper, cucmuber pieces and salsa

Can have these kebabs in fridge for when you get in.

Cheese and crackers

Crumpets and local honey

Wraps with ham/cheese/salad

Bowl of fruit salad (tinned pineapple/peach in juices, etc).

Mini muffin pizza

How about oatcakes? We offer them for snack at the nursery I work in. They are tasty by themselves, or with a bit of butter/marg on, or a bit of cheese. Be aware though that they go soft very quickly so need to be kept in an airtight container once opened.

For snacks you could try malt loaf, bagels, breadsticks or chopped veg and hummus, dried apricots, unsalted nuts and seeds, chunks of cheese, unsalted crisps?
