Have been trying to get registered for 3 months now. Forms went in Jan07. Had pre reg visit and now all info is back at ofsted and have just received CRB checks back for me and dh. has anyone any idea how long it will take ofsted to complete registration now. At pre reg visit was told no problems registering me just had to wait for CRBs. Hoping to be up and running by the next half term, also should i start to advertise etc yet, or should i wait until i have certificate through.

Hiya. It's normally the CRB's that take the time. If I remember correctly it was just a couple of weeks at the most after OFSTED received these that my certificate was sent through. If it was me I would advertise but obviously do not start minding until you receive your certificate. Chances are that parents will not need you to start for a few weeks anyway. Good luck!

Call Ofsted and ask them if any checks are still outstanding. With luck it will encourage them to review your application. Assuming all checks are done, then I expect you could have a decision by end of this week, or early next week, and from then it's a couple of weeks to getting your certificate.

was just about to call Ofsted this morning and BINGO my certificate came through the door. So thats it i am registered and raring to go. Just need to get some little ones now. Could i have some ideas for the best places to advertise please. Have notified CIS and have to wait two weeks for their download from Ofsted as it comes once a fortnight and has only come yesterday. Then they will send form out for me to complete to be put on the website.
