Hoping someone can advise as I'm getting so confused! I should probably call the helpline but I get so flustered on the phone.
I'm putting in a new tax credits claim. Due to divorce, i am now eligible for help. My question is around salary sacrifice. I do a salary sacrifice scheme through work to lease a car. This saves me money on tax.
How do I take account of this on claim form? Do I put in the figure on p60 even though this is voluntarily less than actual salary? I was thinking I could then declare the amount I save on tax by doing the salary sacrifice?
Or do I put in salary before sacrifice even though this is different to what p60 says? (the relevant tax year is further complicated by fact I had maternity leave involved...so I am totally confused!)
