Nursery Nurse babysitting - rate ££??

A nursery assistant (about 19 / 20 years old) has offered to babysit for me and DH over next week. We normally get family to babysit so I have no idea of rate - can anyone give me an idea? We live in Manchester. She's very good to DD at nursery and don't want to appear mean.....

Very difficult to say as babysitting rates vary so much...How much did you have in mind, at what time & for how many hours, does she live far from you?

We pay Nursery Nurse £6.00 per hour, during the evening. DS knows her from nursery, and as I totally trust her, I can go out knowing everything is fine,so would rather pay a little more. If I had someone during the day, would probably try to get away with £5.50 if I could. we live in the midlands

She lives a mile or so away but she's got a car. It won't be a late one, and DD will be asleep by the time she gets there, so she'll be doing 7.30 - 11.30 / midnight. I was thinking £6ph.... god it's difficult isn't it?

I think £6 ph sounds fine.

Usually I ask the baby sitter what their rate is.No one has eve been uneasonable.

You could find out what sitter.co.uk charge in the area and pay her slightly more.

£6ph sounds reasonable, if she was hoping for more she may not offer again though I'd ask her what her rate is as I'm sure she has a number in mind.
