CM Club - Cleaning Musical Instruments

Hi

All the kids love playing with my many musical instruments, especially blowing down recorders, plastic trumpet, whistles etc!

I've always washed these after each use but I'm wondering if there's an easier way? I'm sure at music groups and stuff they use some kind of wipes.

What do you use?

Can you not soak them in sterilising formula if they are plastic? I have lots of instruments but no blowing ones like you mentioned...hmm...can't think why I did have some but they got 'lost'!

i use baby wipes
or pay my boys to fill the bath with water and sterlizing fliud and wash and dry the toys

I put the plastic ones through the dishwasher.

dishwasher good idea

Thanks for that, I think I'll use the dishwasher for a thorough clean I also emailed someone who runs music and dance groups (we used to go to them) and they said they use Milton Sterial Wipes (buys from Boots but quite expensive), they have no smell or taste. She said a Cheaper alternative is to use baby wipes and Dettol spral (sprayed onto each cloth), but that does have more of a smell and taste so I think I'll leave this.

So, I think I'll try the wipes for cleaning in between plays (i.e. when children swap) and then dishwasher at the end of the day
