I keep reading on different threads that CM's hardly pay any tax - is this right!?!?!?!

How does this work out? I take it you have to keep receipts of everything you buy but say for example you buy food for the mindees at the same time as you do your normal shop - do you have to highlight what is for the kids or just mark it as a percentage or whack the whole lot through the books?!?!

thanks again guys! the more I think about it the more I want to be a childminder - first of all, I love kids but I would love to work from home and now that you have all confirmed its all pretty much tax free it sounds even better!!!

how do you deal with the NI side - is it a certain percentage?

dmo earmt about the same as you last year, but started doing a school run in the car as new children went to a school off camp, didnt charge petrol to parents but took it off my mileage and managed to get tax bill down to 500 quid because of it. most impressed. Did the milage on Google and put the map thingy off it and printed it which has milage on it.
