CM Club - INSET DAYS

Had a headache last night after discussing possible school run on MN.

Anyway........one question I'm still not clear on is this:

Say I only have 1 space for an over 5, and someone wants Term Time only and someone else wants school hols only, what happens about Inset Days? We recently had all kids in our district off for inset day so could end up with both parents wanting to take them on this day but I'd only have the space for 1. I'm just trying to get my head around how this would work IF I had this situation. Would you normally agree that the Term Time only child is the one you'd take because it's not actually school hols?

What are your thoughts on this?

TIA

None of my current term-time mindies need care on inset days so i've counted inset days as part of the school holidays and stated this on their contracts.

One mum works at a different school and some holiday mindies have different term-dates. So I put on the contracts that "The parent and childminder agree that the term-dates referred to in this contract are those of [name of school]". I give parents the term dates i get from the school & its up to them let me know if their dates differ and request additional hours (which may or may not be available).

I've also stated on contract that full fees apply to "school closure days, eg due to heavy snow, staff strike etc". Also I state charge for "bank holidays in the middle of school holidays" and "bank holidays during a term week".

i have a few children term time only and their siblings go to my sons school except one child i have who is 1yr old and his brother goes to another school (dont have his brother) anyway she pays me for term time only which is fine as i have other children use his space in the hols
anyway our school is RC so break up for easter on thursday b4 good friday
1 yr olds brother breaks up a week b4 this so .................
mum moaning as she will have to take 3 weeks off this easter to cover her sons school hols then my "extra" week
i dont care moaning is fallin on deaf ears as she pays for term time only and this is ruled by my sons school
so looks like she will be having 3 weeks off
