ok, so dd has been going to tumble tots for last three weeks, it is fine but teacher is not..another story!..
anyway, i have been toying for a while about doing my own play session, not gym as im not qualified but messy play, art, something like that, like a m&t group where parents come but i sort children and activities out..

what would you recon cost would be?, can you hire rooms like this to just do your own thing?..i would be charging BTW, but reasonably, not like £3 for 45 mins of roly polys !

I have been thinking of a similar idea but for older children to be left for a couple of hours to do crafts.

A friend of my runs a music and movement class and hires the hall for £25 p/h. She charges £5 for 45 mins and they are queuing up to get in! If I wasn't so scared of getting up and entertaining the children infront of all those adults I'd be doing it myself!!!!

I would pay up to £5 for an hour session but prob wouldn't do it every week. If it was a weekly thing would prob pay £3 or £2 each child if I had more than one.

You can hire halls and rooms. For a long term commitment you may be able to negotiate a discount. Visit local halls in your area and enquire with the owner/booking person - their phone number is often on a noticeboard. Some local councils may also list venues for hire.

Pricing is always going to be tricky. You need to earn enough for the venue hire, insurance (if not included in venue hire), materials, plus your own time. You also need to make profit on some days, as on other days you may run at a loss.

Personally I try to find activities which charge on a per family basis, rather than per child - as I don't get much weekly activity budget. Some prices from my area: 45 min Music session £3, 1 hour playgym £1 per person, 1.5 hour toddler group £2.

thanks for that, ill have a scout round for halls as the one we go to is in leisure centre and i imagine expensive!

try church halls, community centres rather than leisure places tbh.

I would say start words of mouth at the groups you go to see what their reaction is and how much people in your area are prepared to pay, ask if you can advertise at local schools, churchs, shops.

Should be good once you get going, good luck
