CM Club - Very odd hours what / how should I charge?

I have a mum coming to see me who is 'flight crew' she works one month 'on' then does not work at all the next month!

What should I charge on the month that she is not working, as I will not have her little one, I know from working for flight crew in the past that they get paid.

Have no idea, should I charge her full fee, and as her hours will differ each month should I just agree an amoung for the months she is off?

Thanks for your help

id find her minimum hours per week and charge even when not there...so if her minimum is 30 hours per week but sometimes may be 50, then offer gesture of 30 hour contract and say you will accomodate when needed but a retainer def needs to be in place for months shes not there as you cant fill space arounds her shifts can you?

My arrangement for shift workers is that they pay 1/2 fees for all reserved hours, with an agreed minimum number of hours each week at full fees. Full fees, obviously, for all booked time (whether or not mindie turns up on day, still full fees if they arrive late/leave early).

I don't charge if I am closed (sickness/holiday etc) while they are not usin the place and I also waive the fee if I take on another child in their absence. (If they are away for a month at a time you could use the space to provide cover if a colleague is off sick/holiday or advertise it on emergencychildcare.co.uk, for example.
