Best single & double buggy for childminder

I've gone through many buggies in the 7 years I've been childminding & lucky enough not to have spent much money on them (kind friends or pure luck!) but the time has finally come to invest most urgently in a single buggy and before too long, a double.

So childminders, what do you recommend for flexibility to deal with the variety of children we may have at any one time (don't want to be fixed on really narrow seats for example), can be pushed easily with one hand & folds small enough not to take up a precious car seat space!

I'm toying with a Phil & Ted's as my single with the bottom sling as an emergency/spare but have a feeling they may be very cumbersome. Anyone? Or should I just get a decent single buggy & use either sling or double buggy for multiple little ones.

For double I've previously had a Nipper which I love but multiple punctures and size in the boot (mine has a fixed wheel which might be a factor) are putting me off buying another one. I've seen a friends Mini City Jogger that looks good and heard of but not seen a mountain duet.

I won't be buying new but decent secondhand so don't really want something that will cost me ££££ Shock

Any thoughts or advice much appreciated.

Hi, I have the Baby Jogger City Mini GT and I love it. Really light but sturdy, easy to steer/fold up one handed, and great for all sizes. You can get it in double and single and the tyres are foam filled, so no punctures. I do also like the Phil and Ted's but it's a fair bit heavier, and the tyres can be a bit crap.

I have the baby joggers. Great to push with one hand.

I am a cm and have a single McLaren which I love I had one for my own children and when that has died I replaced it with the same. My buggy does about 20 miles a week so needs to be good. For a double, I used to have a side by side maclaren but this was heavy and no good for off road so I've got a Phil and Ted's now, which I love. Folds up small and light to push. Also easy to swop between one and two children, so the older one can hop in and out as we go and it doesn't matter like in a side by side.

I have a Phil & Teds and find the flexibility works perfectly for me. No more shopping between buggies depending on the children present. The doubles kit has improved dramatically over the years and it's narrow enough to fit through the narrowest of doors.
