Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

As a starting point, minimum wage I feel is suitable. While you may have a lot of general childcare experience, if you have not been doing nannying on a regular basis, the parents may feel you don't have sufficient experience of working with children on a daily basis. Pain I know - I was in a similar position a few years back, as I used to work in Sales & Marketing (not nannying full-time).

You will gain great experience doing the job for a while and you try to agree in the contract (yes, you need one of those) that there will be a pay review say every 6 months, or at least annually.

Minimum Wage applies for nanny jobs which are live-out/daily. NMW does not apply if it is a live-in job to my knowledge.

Good luck with your first Nanny position Daisy!...I hope you enjoy it!...As Nick says make sure that your contract includes a salary review after 6mths/a year.

When I started Nannying 15yrs ago I was on £75pw!

Morton Michel are one of a few insurers to cover nannies. See their Contact Us page for e-mail address to which to address enquiries regarding nanny insurance. Others include the NCMA and PANN.

Your employer should have employers public liability as part of their household insurance policy - most insurers include this for domestic employees, though best that they check that their policy includes it.

oh right well thay haven't said anything about insurance but should i get a seperate one to be on the safe side. Hi had a good day the children love me, and it's breeze i dnt have to do any cleaning unless i get time, just play and cook and entertain and comfort them
