Hi :)
I am in the process of re-registering as a cm. The only thing that is putting me off is the fact my house will no longer be my home and more a place of business (baby things/toys back out, stair gates/equipment back out not to mention the certificate and OFSTED paraphernalia that needs to be on display during working hours!
My friend has offered me his empty house which he no longer lives into cm from, this would mean I would arrive before minders in morning and come home in the evening to a 'baby free' environment where I can switch off!
My question is in the eyes of OFSTED would this even be allowed to do under the registering as a cm on domestic premises on the compulsory register (would have under 8's as well as over as planning to work term time only)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you :)

I just feel like you didn't need to quote back to a previous thread. The way you said 'every bit of advice you give is incorrect' makes a dig at nap. When each thread is a separate topic. It makes it seem like nap comments on lots of threads and is always incorrect. I thought mn etiquette was not to target posters on separate threads.

I honestly do not mind being told Im wrong. Genuinely. As your response to me yesterday didnt even register as negative - I made a comment, you said my comment was wrong. Case closed. However it was the "every bit of advice I see you give is incorrect" makes it sound like I just swan around MN making crap up about all sorts of topics.

Fine. I apologise. Really I do. Flowers I genuinely wasn't trying to 'target' you.

Just adding a quick "sorry" to 2anddone here for derailing her thread - I hope you get the correct advice you need from whoever knows their stuff. And good luck with the vebture.

To be a child-minding premises it must be somebodies home we had a local cm who moved care from her home to an empty house and it caused loads of issues as she was then classed as non domestic premises and working as a nursery and planning became involved. The latest change in rules did mean you could operate from somewhere else for a few hours a day but not as your main place of business.....you can however use an outbuilding like a garden room in your garden providing it is suitable.
