I have a 20 month old DD - she loves books and nursery rhymes. Her favourite books are ones with animals as she knows the names of lots of animals and also the sounds they make. She is also mad about teddys. At nursery one of her favourite things is the trampoline but she also likes the swings and slides at the playground.

Water play (washing up bowl on plastic sheet on the floor and lots of towels and lots of pury things, floaty things etc.

mine like putting things inside things, blocks, duplo, bags (to put stuff in and take out) tea sets, kitchens, dolls, prams, play dough (watch it going in the mouth - make your own so its salty and they spit it out)

Sorry, poury things, and washing up brushes etc and plastic cups.

also, singing time (action and 'clapping' songs)

Peek a boo and hiding with sheets/towels etc

Building with blocks and knocking them down (over and over and over....)

Scribbling with chunky wax crayons or chalk (obviously watch out for crayon eating!)

Rolling balls to her and she rolls it back. (over and over and over...)

LOL..i did n emergency check around playroom when they visited..put all the small stones and glass beads awawy that we use for our beach scene..then she picked up a much larger stamper from the elc etch a scetch type thing and shoved that fully in her mouth!...so when she comes we will spend the day seing which toys are bigger or smaller than her mouth!

boy ( 12m/o and his CM also has an 18m/o & 2yr old) likes stacking cups, rolly things (cars/tubes/balls) chasing 2 yr old, making noises with things, copying 2 yr old, messy things ( paint/sand water etc). Also likes spinning tops, sit and rides, push trucks, posting things in to holes, pulling things out of boxes, hiding under muslins, wearing big hats, exploring under tables and chairs.
his contact book from CM often says they have been playing "dressing up" or " in the den" or " music" Or sometimes just that he enjoyed chasing around after the big boys.
