green snotty noses, constant coughing. not too bad i know, but it just seems to be getting passed around, and sometimes the children aren't having time off to get over it.

I won't accept any kids with diarrhoea/sickness. High temps. Anything likely to be very contagious and make me and my family ill. I will take them if they have a mild cold, just normal coughs and sniffles aslong as they are able to join in with our normal daily routine. I've only had to send 3 children home in the past 5 years, 1 was a baby with diarrhoea even though parents maintained she hadn't! Another was 6 yo who was complaining of hip pains and was miserable, rang the mum, who came and got him straight away cos she said this was normal for when he's about to me sick, which he was as soon as mum came!! 3rd one was last year, 9yo I collected from school, was very unwell, high temp, rang her mum straightaway who collected her - was very cross with school as they should have rang parents and not sent her home with me.

yes it does ss. last week one mindee was coming in from school and falling asleep on the sofa. she had one day off but parents couldnt take more time off. now my ds has been ill all weekend. although he could've caught it from school. its quite difficult to determine how ill too ill is!
