I moved in the middle of my registration and it was fine. Inspector came out and checked the new place and kept numbers the same.

Maybe, as you're already minding, you should let Ofsted know before the move incase the rules are different.

I'm in England, moved in November, told Ofsted first who said needed to close business and be inspected before could reopen. After advice on here, I sent a letter with risk assessment showing I had covered things in new house and they were fine. Sent new cert when moved and mindees were only off for couple of days. No inspection yet but I want to try for overnight care and increasing numbers soon so that will mean inspection.

TBH, they seem to make the rules up as they go along. A CM in same village moved around same time as me, when she called they said no need to inspect, just to write informing them within 14 days of moving. THEN, she ended up having to be inspected and got a satisfactory grade as no kids were there (as she wasn't allowed to mind!

Nannynick was a great help with bits he found on their website etc. Maybe put a shout out for him or search for threads about moving and you'll see the advice I got.

Good luck

Sorry can't advise for Wales. Though why not ask the regulator for their guide to Childminders Moving House... I feel they should have one, though bet they don't!

However, I will say this for anyone reading this from England and who is an NCMA member... please, please, please do nag NCMA about getting this moving house issue sorted out - get them to nag Ofsted on mass. If NCMA took up this issue, Ofsted I feel would publish something, probably online initially, which everyone could then follow.
Why does Ofsted not publish a guide for Childminders moving house? Why is NCMA not asking this question on behalf of their membership?

In England in the past you weren't allowed to childmind in the property until Ofsted had inspected it to check safety. Bit of pain but simple. Then the rules changed and now people are told different things. Ofsted can issue a certificate for new address without inspecting the property but I think what's happening is that they are still inspecting first in cases where childminder was recently registered, got a low inspection grade or its been some time since they were last inspected.
