I am having one of those days, so I am going to moan about it

I come back from four days rest and recuperation in the Lake District to chaos!
Mindee 1, whose mum insists in putting him in pullups, even though he's not being potty trained at all, pooed in his pull up this morning. Then took it off. Cue poo all over him, his clothes, the carpet and sofa!. I had to take him, and mindee3 (who is a 4 year old) upstairs, Run bath, put mindee 3 in bedroom with a DVd on, bath mindee 1. Then had to put him in travel cot (cue much screeching) while i guddled around looking for clothes for him, as him mum doesn't ever send a change.
Then had to pile them all downstairs, put mindee1 in buggy so he wouldn't touch my poo stained carpet or sofa, get mindee3 (who, to her credit was very good) to sit on other sofa, while i scrubbed. Then had to wash his clothes.

Then, discovered he had broken the straps on the buggy, the ones that go over the shoulder, because he leans forward, as far as he can go,in case i have the audacity to try and get him to sleep, so buggy is now useless. By this point he was almost sleeping on the (dry) sofa. Mindee 2 then turned up and we had to get ready to take mindee 3 to nursery. Put 1&2 in double buggy, mindee 1 by this point almost sleeping, as soon as he got in the buggy he did the pulling forward thing, almost pulling the straps again, so i ended up walking him on the reins, so journey which usually takes 10 minutes took 30.
Now I have ranted, I am going to have my lunch, and hopefully get mindee 1 to have his, if i can move him as mindee 1 is here on my knee, and mindee 3 fast asleep in buggy.
And my mates all think my job is easy!

OMG, what a day..mucho sympathy for you!

Gobbledigook · 12/02/2007 13:09

I don't understand why you didn't lie him down and rip the sides of the pull up? You didn't pull it down like a pair of pants did you? There is no reason why you should get poo everywhere from a pull up, any more than if you used a nappy!

Sorry if I missed something there!

SOunds like a hectic day though!

StrawberrySnowflakes · 12/02/2007 13:11

the mindee took pull up off not Saltire.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 12/02/2007 13:12

and is this the same mindee whose parents buy 'too big' pull ups? and whom regulary has 'leaks' ?

mogs0 · 12/02/2007 14:57

Oh poor you!! I have a charge in pull ups too, though nowhere near ready for potty training. It's because he won't lie down to have a nappy put on at home. Sadly, he doesn't have much choice here!! Pull up always falls down if he doesn't have a poppered vest on. Luckily, he only poos about once a week so not had a messy one so far!!

Also, same charge NEVER slept in cot. Used to take him for 2 hour walks so he'd sleep in buggy. Then parents decided to sleep train. Now he sleeps in the travel cot for 2 hours and even goes in with a smile on his face!!

Hope the rest of your day gets easier!!

its half term for me this week
took me and 9 mindees to a park in southport (bout 1 hrs drive away) had a lovely morning and ate our picnic then the heavens opened and we were all socked hiding under a tree
anyway took all 9 wet muddy mindees to the local tesco for a hot choclate and cake and we left a lovely muddy trail in the shop

Oops - sorry! Misunderstood that Saltire! Sounds like a nightmare! Hope you've had a better time since.
