I now get a deposit which I keep until the end of the childcare arrangement. I had to let a parent off part of the notice period as she gave notice over christmas & my contract didn't state that notice does not include a holiday period. It does now.

Let us know what NCMA say, having used their contract they should be able to help you. I would be confirming what they owe in a letter & final bill and giving a deadline to pay (in line with their payment date/whats in their contract) stating that legal action will be taken if payment not received by stated date. Make sure you've got everything in writing in case you need evidence for court. .

I have had two non payers, took them both to court and got the money back.
You need to get on to the NCMA though and get some help from them

I am in Scotland, same thing happened to me last April,in lawyers hands but still waiting for my money.

Sherrif officers have been to her house etc so not sure what will happen next, warrant sale??

Sympathies, just came back to work on Monday this week and hating the thought of trying to get money from parents.

saltireneepsandtatties · 26/01/2007 16:25

I was in the lucky(if you could call it that) position that both my non payers were in the Military. The money they owed was taken form their wages. Took a while but i got it.
Are you in Scotland fatfairy?

I think you should wait and see what this week brings!

You never know, after thinking for the weekend, maybe they will think that it just is not worth it!

id contact ncma but also send letter to paretn re-iterating what your contract states and the fact that should you not hear from them within one week, you will take proceedings against them.
state what you 'can' actually do ie take then to court, they pay court costs etc...im sure theyll have a rethink!.good luck
