c/m's: Settling in visit

Are they always this nerve wracking? I have the little one (almost 10 mos) starting today and tomorrow for 3 hours each day to settle in.

I have confidence in myself as a good c/m but I am still nervous! Hopefully one day this won't be so new and I won't worry as much!

Anything I should do in particular?

I wouldn't try and do too much. Maybe stay in or just potter in the garden (thought it is freezing here. We had snow this morning). Just have a quiet day while you both get used to each others ways. Good luck!!!

Despite the fact that I've been childminding for years, I still sometimes get the "why on earth would someone trust me with their baby?!!" There's always a niggling thought that the parents will suddenly realise that they've made a terrible mistake!!! (I hasten to add that it hasn't happened).

It went fine, baby was happy just tired by the time mum got back. She was really sad leaving the baby in the first place which was hard for me, didn't help in the confidence department.

But all in all went fine!
