ive been asked to have a child just in the school hols and another child (different family) just in term time before and after school.
does anyone do this and do you use the normal ncma contracts? they seem a bit long winded just for after schoolers!!

i do this all the time
i have 7 children who are term time only (before and after school)
and 5 children who are hoilday only

i am a ncma member but do not use the contracts on any of my children as i wanted to add thing onto the contract, so i used there contract as a base line and printed my own up

this is great for me as when i get an enquiry i can boot up my pc and print off the contract i need, also if something is not working i can delete it and add different things to it to update it

hope this helps

I don't use NCMA contracts, I do my own so its easy just to type in Termtime Only/During School Holidays only. I also put in "The Parent and Childminder agree that the term dates refered to in this contract are the dates of [name of school]" Also state whether the place will be available/charged for:
-staff training days

  • bank holidays in middle of school holidays
  • bank holidays in a school term week (including those at the end/beginning of school holidays)
  • school closure days (eg boiler breakdown, heavy snow)

deff state that if it is term time only that it is your term time they go by,
or your hoildays they go by

i have a 1yr old who is term time only his brother doesnt go to my sons school but to another close by
mum came in moaning this morning (i gave hoilday sheets out yesterday) that she has no leave left and my easter hols are different to hers
i said in not so many ways tough

do you charge a retainer during term time for a school hol only child? i only ask as the child in question is only 4 so will take up one of my 3-5 places.

i dont but its your business
plus i dont have any 4 yr olds

didnt know that rule had come into order

Cwmbranchildminder · 10/01/2007 18:54

well is the child in f/t school? If so they are classed as 5 & over as per conversation with my inspector on Monday.
If that is not the case and u are including them in your under 5's then it is not worth the taking them on imo as u may have to turn down f/t business.

I use NCMA contracts for everyone so that I have their back-up if we ever had any legal problems.

I think parents accept all the detail required because spaces on the forms have to be filled in, so there's no arguments (I don't do confrontation!!)

Wading through the fine print on the back is heavy-duty, and I'm sure that most parents probably don't actually read it all, but at least it explains to them why certain information is required.

phewwwwww
thought that new law had come in i heard wispers that even if a child was at school full time and they where 4 yrs old they would count as part of your under 5's

has that been dismoslised now?
