Can someone tell me the going rate for babysitting on Nye in London?

Sitters.co.uk will give you a proper idea. Whether you'll get anyone at this short notice though is doubtful. I'm not in London or working NYE, but I've been booked solid day and night through December for them.

I checked. Tried it with an address on Berkeley square.
Says that:

These are slightly higher rates of pay for certain special dates (e.g. New Year’s Eve). These dates usually require higher rates of pay to be offered as there are naturally fewer childcarers willing to work (as they too have party invitations!). The only way to accommodate this imbalance is to offer the babysitters more appealing rates of pay.

Thu 31st December 2015 (evening) £14.00 per hour Fri 1st January 2016 (daytime) £9.00 per hour

It's okay, malov. A childminder friend charges £100/child (£125 for siblings) for NYE and that includes overnight, breakfast and lunch the next day with drop off in the afternoon post 2pm so the folks can really party. She usually has from 5-10 children and uses the money towards annual family holiday. She is teetotal so never drinks at all, anyway.

malovitt you sound lovely but I fear you are being taken advantage of. I very much doubt that you would lose much work by going up to £10 per hour, certainly not more than would be offset by the increased pay per hour.

I'm in a reasonably affluent area of the SE and would say rates are comparable - normal rates £10ph double time for NYE with a minimum £100. To be fair most people I know don't bother going out NYE or include children as this is so expensive so if you want to work I'd pitch nearer £15ph minimum £50. You definitely need to revise your moral rate though especially for W1!

I'm zone 3, SW London, if I were going to babysit NYE I would want at least £25 per hour and a 6 hour minimum. The children all have to be in bed by 9 too! I have been offered that and more but I have plans so have said no.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/12/2015 11:45

Average seem to be double what you /the area usually pays

I always get asked by mums I know - I state £20ph and food Wink and parents happy with that - I always give to a local nanny friend who is happy to bs as single - and parents know if I recommend the nanny they are happy with that

£9 is insane but in the end what the poster is happy with - hope you are declaring and paying tax on the extra £5k or so you are earning

peppielillyan · 29/12/2015 14:08

yes, i do all the invoicing, SA and NIN payments.

I was offered £25ph by an agency. Not in London though so totally irrelevant to the post. Grin

philippamain · 04/01/2016 17:56

I usually charge £11/hr in Zone 2, Putney, London.
£20/hr for NYE and Valentines day.
Hope that helps.
