cant she snuggle up and go to bed somewhere? is lste fior 3 yr old

Personally I think use your own children's bedtime as a 'bedtime' for her - tuck her up on the sofa with a blanket and teddy, and let her watch a really easy DVD, something sweet like paddington or postman pat....is the mum going to provide pyjamas? Would make sense to have her in those I would think.

I think just make it understood that when your kids are in bed, she is not up and about but is resting on the sofa.

i feel for all of you...i take it mum can't avoid situation. only thing i'd say is tv winds my DD up rather than calms her down. cuddles and colouring in sounds best or even snoozing, chances are at that time of night she'll not have had enough sleep to wake when mum comes.

Isyhan · 06/12/2006 19:17

I dont suppose you can give her a bedtime bath or anything like that can you?

StrawberrySnowflakes · 06/12/2006 22:11

hiya girls, i let my dd stay up hour extra (without her ealising), so she went stright to sleep, then got mindee, lots of cushions, dvd, juice and had a snuggle up on sofa..told her it was dd's bedtime so we must be quiet
tbh i was thinking of bathing and putting p.js on but a: mum never mentioned or brought any and b: its freezing, so thick daytime clothes were best tonight..but did really feel for her when mum picked her up, she was so tired and looked so uncomfortable in her jeans and big coat, should have been warm jimmys and dressing gown
anyway, think next weeks shift has been cancelled(but found out shift was actually only till 7pm, mum booked double d.lesson after it!!!!)
anway, dvd worked this time, thanks for suggestions
