I Need a new nanny

My lovely nanny is leaving after being with us for 5 years and I need someone new but kids are now grown up so thinking of getting an au-pair, is there such thing as a live-out au-pair? How do I go on to finding an au-pair?

what about a mothers help ?

Au-pair's (at least under the au-pair scheme) would be live-in, so alternatives would be:

Mothers Help or Housekeeper - or just create your own job title, after all, it's just a name! Home Help? Home Management Supervisor? Household Manager?

Perhaps think about what you want the person to be doing, then base the name on that... perhaps they need to be a driver, to transport teenagers to activities (how old are your children?)... or perhaps most of their job would be cleaning. Just a thought.

Oh, I'm jealous. Can't wait unitl my kids are old enough that I can dith the nanny expense.

Agree with Nick. It's just a title. Call them whatever you/they like.

To answer your original question lsmama, there is plenty of au pairs who want live out, and they are the ones who tend to be in the UK already in my experience recently. Gumtree.com seems to have a good supply of live out au pairs.
