Where do you post/look for nannies? (from a nanny looking for a part time job)

Hi,

I am looking for a part time nanny job in London and I feel like I am looking at 100 different nanny job websites everyday.

I wondered what websites you use when looking for a nanny and if you feel any are better than others?

Also, how do you feel about employing a qualified teacher with DBS, but who was not OFSTED registered (the money and the time it takes is alot!)

Any info or help and tips would be really appreciated. Thankyou :)

Not in London but we advertised for and found our part-time nanny on Gumtree. Also used childcare.co.uk but had much more interest via Gumtree. Our nanny wasn't OFSTED registered before she started with us but we paid for her to do it so we could use childcare vouchers.

Thanks eatyourveg and pigeonpost. I have been looking quite frequently on gumtree

A good place to look is nannyjob - a lot of the agencies post their jobs on there.

Findababysitter.com is good.

Which area of London?

Apart from agencies I use nanny job - Gumtree- childcare co.uk - greatcare and nappy valley

Tho agencies tend to be better as messy they have told family costs

If a family needs /wants to use vouchers then yes you will need to be ofsted - tho the family pays for registration - but you will need a childcare qual/common core - first aid - pli

messy ???? Not sure how they got there

And regards to you being a teacher - some Families with older children may like that - others not bothered - others may only want a trained nanny

Have you tried agencies

Thanks for all the messages so far.

I registered to findababysitter (and paid £20 for a month to apply to more than two jobs!), I am looking for South East London mainly.

Thanks for nappy valley, Blondeshavemorefun, I hadn't heard of that one yet.

I have contacted an agency about a job & should be going in to see them, but I feel like there are so many agencies and I only want to apply for part time jobs, that I don't want to have to register & interview with each agency just to have the chance to apply for a job.

I am registering with a nanny agency next week, but by the time I see them the job could be gone & I have registered with them but there is nothing else with that agency at this time that is suitable for me to apply for. I could be doing that ten times.

Also, good to know that the family pays for ofsted registration.

Any help or advice, but looks like gumtree, findababysitter & just looking at alot of different websites. Any other websites would be great to know, thankyou everyone. Smile

The East Dulwich forum is great for finding jobs!

Nappy Valley is a website location specific to SW London, so if you're looking for SE London there might not be many jobs.

Feel free to PM me, there is a formula for navigating it all ;)
