Advice on finding a good English course for au pair?

Hi, our au pair has just started. She speaks fairly fluent English, reading and writing less advanced. I have looked into courses and there are loads - we live in London. Some market themselves at au pairs, there are free ones run by the local authority which she could access - EU national. Does anyone have any experience of finding a good one? It seems really hard to tell online if it's a rip off, and some fees seem very high to me. Our first au pair so the experience of others would be really useful, thank you!

You need an EAL course. If you enrol her at your local fe college they will assess her current levels and put her in the appropriate level class. There should be enrolment sessions for the autumn term coming up in the next few weeks.

Delfin english school in Bloomsbury Square is really good. Only downside is they don't do evening classes:( Hope your au pair gets fixed up okay

I think you are safer with a local fe college or a publicly funded set-up than a "language school" specifically aimed at young people. Some may be good but I think others can be a rip off.
