thinking of becoming a cm.help!

i have plenty of experience in childcare and early years education as i worked as preschool supervisor until i had youngest baby.i have 6 yo and 5 yo ans 11 month old.we are moving to brand new house in new area.im thinking of becoming childminder as feel it would be nice for my lo and myself while making a bit of extra pocket money.any advice on how to get started?

Where abouts in world is your new house? Town/City Name and County (if appliciable) are helpful.

For now, assuming you are in England, then based solely on the ages of your own children, the Maximum number of children you can childmind, under the age of 8, will be 3. I would expect the age ranges permitted to be: 3 under 8 of which no more than 2 under 5, of which 1 under 1 (as your youngest will be one by the time you are registered to childmind).
It will depend on your house size, so you may find that you don't get this allocation.

Read the National Standards (see SureStart website) and Guideance to the national standards (see Ofsted website). These will help give you an idea of what is involved. Contact your local Children's Information Service requesting information on registering as a childminder. They will be able to tell you more about the process, training requirements, and send you an application pack.

thanks,very helpful,will take a look at suggested info.i'll be moving to launceston,cornwall.the house is fairly small.
