CM CLUB: Hmmm would Ofsted go for this??

currently full for under 5's got two mindees 2yr 9month and 3yr 3 months as well as dd 3 yr 8month..so only have spaces for over 5's...this morning, CM friend said that when she gos back into teaching in july next year one of her parents has told her she will be putting her son with me!!..now i have briefly met this woman at a party and she asked me for business card, but no more..sooooooooooo....
he may want to start coming to me at easter-early summer..at which point mindee one will have been in nursery 1/2 day(afternoon with me collecting) since january and mindee 2 will have been in 1/2 day nursery since feb(also afternoons and i dont have her after school as parent swill pick up)
will Ofsted let me take on this little one as well as the girls?..he is around a year old now so be about 18 months when they want me to look after him...whatdya thinkn???

have just emailed them...
just that hell only be here 2-3 days and in the afternoons ill only have him and dd until 3.30 when i pick just one of the other mindees up..anyway..fingers crossed..just wanted to find out in advance so i can explain to th mum when she asks or let current minder know so she can tell mum.

Used to be a childminder & I'm sure that under 5's who got to school/nursery for a certain number of hours count as an over 5. I'm pretty sure, 'cos I had 3-4yo who did 1/2 day nursery 5 days a week & he didn't count as under 5. BUT that was 3y ago & so maybe times have changed since.

Only 4 year olds who attend school full time are classed as over 5s.
You could try and pass it off as continuity of care by stating that you know the parent and child very well and already spend alot of time with his current childminder thus ensuring that when current childminder finishes his care is not affected.
