As a newly registered cm (not that i have got any work as yet) but do I need to inform inland revenue at all that im self employed?? Haven't a clue on things like that>?
I heard someone has opened a business acc? Is that needed as I was planning on putting wages into my normal account?

I think they will probably advise you to wait until you have some work, and then yes, you need to call them. You have 3 months from when you first start self-employed work to tell the inland revenue.

They told me I was to inform them when my first mindie had attended for their first day. (But that was 5 years ago).

Its entirely up to you whether you open a business account but I would recommend you keep your business transactions in a separate account, whether a business account or another personal account. I do this and pay myself a wage into another personal account. Much easier to keep track of your spending and when it comes to doing your accounts/tax return its much easier if all your business transactions are not mixed up with personal expenditure on your statements. The Abbey do a free business account if you're interested, but many people use "personal" accounts for their business as IMO most business accounts are a rip-off.

ive just been reg too..i opened a busines account with barclays( free banking for 12 months!!) and have been told you 'must' inform tax ofice within three months of starting work, but i think (dont qote me) that that measn when you get your first mindee, not when your reg comes through??..good luck
