Moving house, changing childminder and preschool

If all goes through a sit should, we will be moving house soon ish.

DD is 3 but 4 in approx 4 months.

It's a little distance away and CM is not up to standard. She will be moving CM and will be going to pre school near the new house. I'm terrified about planning it all.

Cost is a big issue as we receive no help apart from child benefit.

Will dd cope with moving CM and preschool at the same time?

Will we have to wait for a term to end before transferring the 15 hours?

I'm getting myself very anxious about this change but I think it's probably (hopefully) unnecessary.

Could you just change to a cm who offers the free 15 hours? Only one change then.

You need to give notice on your funded hours which may be different to pre school or childminders notice period.

I will have to call the pre school and discuss I think.

I've spoken to a CM this morning and I think I may go with them for the funded hours. DD is in her element at pre school and I'm devastated to pull her out but it'd be impossible to keep her there. I just hope she doesn't miss out because of not going there.

My dd is only 2 so not eligible for funded hours yet (not that my cm does them) but I have to say that an excellent cm will help your dd thrive probably more so than an ok nursery. when my dd first started with the cm she only had about 7-10 coherent words. 4 months later she probably has around 50 coherent words and about another go knows how many thay make perfect sense to her but utter gibberish to me Grin. I don't think she would have come on so strong at nursery as she gets far more direct interaction and care with the cm.

if you are changing her cm then perhaps do just that change initially and then add in the new preschool once you are certain she is settled?

She won't miss out if she's with a good cm. She will have lots of new experiences and meet many new children, so don't worry. We are in far too much of a rush in this country to get our children into formal education.

Another thought is to go visit pre school and get name down. by the time you have moved it may well be September before you get a place...Also remember because you have your name down you don't have to take the place
