Holidays- do you pay for childcare?

Hello, I am a teacher, I am due my first baby in October, I plan to go back to work before Easter, but will I have to pay for childcare over the holidays? What is the norm? I understand childcare providers cannot really sustain working the same hours as a teacher, but does it happen? Otherwise I'm not seeing the point in going back!
I'm in the South west if it makes a difference.
Thanks in advance guys x

you might need the option to end your child during the holidays to get some work done

You're a brave woman to suggest this on MN, Maryann1975!

Why would sending child during school hold be such a terrible thing?

I am more than happy to have my term time only children for a few days during the hols - I have a saying 'if I have a space I have a place' .... Teachers need to work during the holidays and the little ones love to come over - six weeks is a long time to be away from a papers I they love very much (me)

There's no problem with sending them, Banana - it was ending them that I thought contentious. Grin
