Nanny jobs help!

Hi all! I'm a nanny who works for two different families, one two days and week and the other for three. I have had constant problems with the family I work three days a week for. They are disorganised, constantly forget to pay me and undermine me at every single turn. I don't think it's purposeful as they honestly are lovely people but I'm really not enjoying my job any more.

The family I work two days a week for has asked me to do one more day for them and they also have friends looking for a nanny so that would fill my week up. I'm most definitely going to say yes to this arrangement but this family has had another baby since I started working for them and my pay hasn't risen. They have said they will be able to pay me more once I get OFSTED registered, which I am in the process of doing. But actual salary has not been discussed. The job I am not enjoying pays so well that I'm worried I'll really miss the money.

(Sorry for the essay!) What I'm really asking for is someone to tell me that I won't miss the money and I'll be far happier in the long run, and how I go about bringing up a new salary with my other family. And also how I would go about crafting my resignation in a way that doesn't exactly say I am choosing another family over yours.

Thanks :)

Its not usual to increase pay when there's an extra child. The cost of a nanny is per family not per child (I don't think I increased pay after having any of my children). They have also said that they will increase your pay after you become registered - which usually doesn't take that long, concentrate on that and then you'll get a pay rise.

The other family sound terrible - I don't understand how they can forget to pay you! Is one job closer to your home or shorter hours? You could maybe say something along the lines of wanting a better work/life balance.

Be happy in your job, it is not worth the stress of being unhappy.
Unusual to get more money because there is an extra child, would you expect less money once a child goes to pre-school?

A pay rise is nice though, so if they are offering that following registration then do the registration, it can take a few months.
Do discuss what the new proposed salary would be, as hours are increasing which would then mean holiday entitlement increases and overall pay increases, though taxes also increase.

Work out what you need to earn to be happy, you may find it easier just to have one job.
