CM Club - Voucher Schemes - How does it work for us

I have been asked by a potential mindee's parents if I accept vouchers. As I have just started out I assume I can accept them, but I just don't know how it works for me. What will I need to do to ensure that I get paid? Can anyone help who is parents get vouchers throught their employment?
Thanks

I pay my childminder through vouchers. It saves me a lot of tax across the year. The way happens is the parent has to register you and you will receive a letter from the voucher company asking for payment details (bank account etc). Once you have filled that in, you will start receiving a bank payment each month from the voucher company.

The amount you receive in the bank is set by the parent (though there is a limit I believe). It is very easy to register but the parent has to register you first so they can send you the appropriate form.

The only problem is that the amount paid each month is the same so if your hours vary each month the parent may have to pay you any extra or deduct any overpayment the next month.

I accept vouchers, and I don't think that there is any reason for a childminder not to. You will need to fill in some paperwork (to prove you're registered), but it's not rocket science.

parents can claim a max of £243 per parent per month in salary surrender towards vouchers as long as their employer is in a scheme.

there is no cost to cm - freephone numbers, online service etc etc.

we pay our cm in busy bee vouchers- our monthly bill is less than the total amount that we can claim in vouchers. if I ask for additional hrs I pay up front at beginning of session.

oh, I get a paper voucher around the 15th of the month which I then pass to cm she then phones through the verification code and her security stuff and the money is in her account the same day we get paid (unless I forget to pass on the voucher ) This can all be done online as well but my employer doesn't seem to have mastered this bit yet!

Mine is all done online so the childminder gets paid automatically at the beginning of the month. We pay more per month than the maximum allowed on the vouchers so I work out the days each month and give my childminder the difference in cash at the beginning of the month.

Do you only get paid monthly with the vouchers?? at the moment mindee's parent pays me weekly and to be honest I prefer this as I have had so many probs with them in the pass ie late payment, not paid enough.

I think it is only monthly. I was paying weekly but I solved this by paying eveything to my CM at the beginning of the month in advance. Up until then she was being paid weekly in arrears so it actually worked out better for her.

The other option is to take the voucher amount off what you are owed for the first week or more (depending on what they owe) and have the rest paid in cash for the other weeks of the month. It could be a bit more fiddly but this way you always get £243 paid into your account at a regular time, surely that means you are always getting some of the payment up front and don't have to chase for it.
