Hi,
Just after a little advice please.
I had to go and pick DD 9months up from childminders early on Weds as she had a tummy upset . She was quite poorly love her and very clingy to me the following day. I don't work Thurs or Fri, so we just had quiet time at home.
I'm due to work tomorrow. DD is fine in herself, very happy as usual and eating normally again.
However, her stools are sometimes still quite watery, pale yellowish and very smelly ie not back to normal yet!
Will the childminder be happy to take her back tomorrow? or do you think it'll be a problem?
What do you think?

Hi, I would suggest you give her a call. All childminders have different views and policies regarding sickness and diarrhoea. I personally use gloves when dealing with nappies purely to stop any passing of bugs etc.If she had been sick she would have to be clear of that for 24 hours before returning to childminder or school, but it has been several days now since she was unwell.

im a cm and if it was me i would be happy to take her back tomorrow but on the understanding that if she has more than 2 loose poos then i would give you a call to collect her.
thats just me tho!
i would give your cm a text or call this eve (if she doesnt mind you contacting her on a sunday, personally wouldnt bother me atall) or in the morning to clarify its ok with her. hth

Hi Possumhead; As a childminder myself, I usually take child if stools loose but only if I am sure (well as sure as I can be) it is not a 'bug' ie child not contagious. I have had babies who have had the odd upset tummy or two, sometimes lasting for a few days but after talking to mum was pretty sure that it was due to teething.

As long as your little one is not contagious, I can't see why your childminder would object. Hope this helps....

Thanks ladies,
I will give our childminder a call in a little while, just to be sure.
I think she is over the bug now as she was completely off her food and milk. Now all back to normal (except for stools).
I don't think it is contagious now though! Thanks for advice
