what the telescopic one???

I've got a P&T double but my own kids 4&2 now so only paid out for it cause of them

Side by side can be very big to get into doors LOL (been there) and heard tandaums can be heavy with elest in front.

HTH

I bought a second hand Maclaren double buggy. (£75)It's great. It fits through doorways etc. and is light.

smeeinit · 01/11/2006 20:09

wtf is a telescopic buggy????!!!!
ive got the mamas n papas twin aria and its very good. really lightweight and easy to handle.not too wide for doorways either!

smeeinit · 01/11/2006 20:22

had to find out what one was!! not very exciting ay??!!! telescopic buggy!!

StrawberryMoon · 01/11/2006 20:41

well dont think ill be able to select make and model..but wanted something easy enought to get a 2yr and 3yr old around to soft play and playgroup and so on..the tnadem ones, i dont really like them ones, dont like having one hiding in back that cant see bugger all!

I have both a tandem and a side-by-side double buggy - I prefer the tandem because it is much easier to get through doorways, and I don't find it heavy to push (but then I'm an elephant ). The back seat is higher than the front, so there is no problem with the child in the back being able to see.

Ineedaholiday · 01/11/2006 23:18

ive got that telescopic buggy just now. My twin buggy before was a side by side, but the one before that for my own children was a tandem. I deff prefer the tandem one I had, theyve got more room and I found it easier to push. My current one doesnt have much room when they have got jackets on and doesnt fit hrough a lot of doors including my front door.

StrawberryMoon · 02/11/2006 08:14

, so i may have to check out tandem ones then???

OP posts:
smeeinit · 02/11/2006 09:02

i had a tandem for my ds's and hated it! it was sooo hard to push and lift up kerbs etc as you have to have the bigger one in the front.
this was 14 years ago tho so maybe changed since then!!!

CwmbranChildminder · 02/11/2006 09:39

Think the best idea is to go to mothercare and have a look at them and try them out to see which one u prefer. Everyone seems to have different opinions. mine is I like the double (side by side) from mothercare but I bought mine 2nd hand. I can also fit mine in the boot of my car when i have all 7seats up which u couldnt do with a tandem

StrawberryMoon · 02/11/2006 12:49

so tandems take up more space too??
well ill have a petite 3 yr old and a smallish 2yr 9month old..bearing in mind theyre going to be in layers with this wether..would one of the slimmer telescopic or whatever theyre clled be ok?

this is with tandem, i know the younger one would have to be in front as older one sleeps as soon as she's in buggy but younger one has so much ebergy and will be wrenching her neck to see everything!

oh p.s..im going in morn for it, so havent got opportunity to try them in mothercare..girl said they do have one or two diff styles in tho'?

If you get a side by side don't get a cheap one (I am on my second Maclaren one) - I tried one from Argos - the frame broke cos 1 child was heavy, the height of the seats or something was wrong so that you couldn't easily get it up kerbs, the swivel wheels didn't really swivel, and quite disconcertingly the wheels didn't grip the supermarket floor so I had to slide it round!

StrawberryMoon · 02/11/2006 12:54

...oh no im gunna get a piece of rubbish arn't i!...so baring in mind its a loan one from surestart..what are the best names models i am to look for?

Hi Strawbm, I have that pushchair, It easily fits in two year olds that are well padded. Haven't had any problems fitting it through any doorways except for my own!.

I live in a very hilly area and I have to say it's not the easiest to push up hills when both two year olds are in, but it's easy with two year old and the baby, but I manage it even with a dodgy knee.
