ofsted currently have me down (when my reg somes through), for over night care in my back bedroom and i know i shuold tell them when this room changes, but we're putting dd in there after xmas and putting computer in her old room which is much smaller.
prob is overnight care...what is acceptable in terms of occasioanl sleeping arrangements ie: bed???..we were thinking of putting sofa bed? either small wood framed one or foam on or even a ready bed for the odd occasion when she will need to stay over??
really dont want dd to have to squeeze in small room just so i can have a mindee once in a blue moon.
does anyone know or have experience of this??
TIA

nope - but they were prepared for me to have babies (in cots) in my conservatory - with me asleep in the room next door

However my mum & I discussed it and we decided that my DH wouldn't like that very much....as he would have to slppe upstairs close to our DD

SO no help there then

As long as there was an available bed for your mindee it seems fine to me, they would still have their own bedroom for overnight care. When you change rooms I would just give ofsted an abligatory call and say, I have switched bedrooms round and all precautions still in place ie safety considered, gates/monitors (if needed), personal space etc.

Hope that makes sense!

thanks girls

i am thinking of putting either a small sofa bed in there or a single readdy bed(like the velvety covered blow up ones??)..but didnt know if this was ok?..i think dd would have loved it!..shes think she was camping out
emailed ofsted to ask but havent heard back yet??

Hi SM, no lo's today so thought I'd pop on here .

I am registered for overnight care too; as I understand it, you do need to let Ofsted know about the change in room; when Ofsted visited you to register you for overnight care, they would have viewed the room as it was then with 'regular' bed in (?), if you now have a change in 'that' sleeping arrangement whether it be a bed or have additional equipment, say such as a computer in the room, then they may need to visit again. I am sure that I was told a put-u-up or sofa-bed was unacceptable or maybe I am getting mixed up with fostering arrangements!

Hopefully they will respond to your email quickly .
